In a recent update, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that its air defense forces intercepted 51 Ukrainian drones over several regions, including the border area, overnight.
According to a statement released on Telegram, the ministry reported downing 18 drones in the Tambov region and 16 in Belgorod near the Ukraine-Russia border. Additional drones were destroyed in regions such as Oryol, Bryansk, Lipetsk, and Voronezh.
Furthermore, one drone was intercepted in Kursk, where the Ukrainian military has been conducting a ground offensive since August, taking control of hundreds of square kilometers of Russian territory.
In a separate report by Reuters, Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov mentioned on Telegram that a drone attack resulted in injuries to a woman and damage to several vehicles.
Tambov Governor Maxim Yegorov noted that a Ukrainian drone crashed in Michurinsky District after being shot down, causing a fire but fortunately resulting in no casualties or property damage.
Additionally, Serhiy Popko, the head of military and civil authorities in Kyiv and the surrounding area, reported that Russia launched multiple drone attacks on Kyiv for the second consecutive night.
Popko stated on Telegram that approximately ten drones were deployed from various directions and altitudes during these assaults. However, all drones were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense forces before reaching Kyiv, and there were no reports of casualties or significant damage.
As of now, the Russian authorities have not commented on the drone attacks targeting Kyiv.
