At least 14 killed in Bosnian floods after torrential rainstorm overnight – video

In a recent interview, officials discussed the devastating flooding that has struck Bosnia and Herzegovina, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 14 lives, with additional individuals still unaccounted for. They attributed the destruction to heavy rainfall and landslides that have impacted homes, roads, and bridges across the central region.

The presidency of Bosnia has formally requested military support in the Jablanica area. In response, teams of engineers, rescue units, and helicopters have been deployed to aid in the recovery efforts. Remarkably, during these operations, 17 people were successfully rescued from a mental health facility.

On the same day, neighboring Croatia also experienced similar flooding; however, authorities confirmed that there have been no reported casualties. Nonetheless, severe weather warnings have been issued for both the Adriatic coast and central regions of Croatia, underscoring the ongoing risks posed by these extreme weather conditions.
