On September 29, Bangkok played host to a significant gathering entitled “Thai Overseas Chinese Youth Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.” This noteworthy event was co-hosted by the Thai Chinese Youth Commerce Chamber alongside several other organizations, including the Thai Min Business Association, Thai Shandong Business Association, Thai Su Business Association, and Thai Guizhou Business Association.
Approximately 150 individuals attended, including Zhang Long, the first secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, former Thai Deputy Foreign Minister Dophong, special advisor to the Royal Thai Police, Vice Superintendent Surapong, and a variety of representatives from business associations as well as young Chinese entrepreneurs in Thailand.
In his remarks, Zhang Long praised the Thai Chinese Youth Commerce Chamber for serving as a vital link between Chinese and Thai economic and cultural exchanges since its inception. He noted the chamber’s adaptability to the changing landscape of economic cooperation between the two countries, highlighting its significant contributions to bilateral investment, trade, and technological innovation. Zhang expressed optimism that, through the Belt and Road Initiative, cooperation between China and Thailand has entered an exciting new phase, with promising developments in infrastructure, the digital economy, smart manufacturing, culture, tourism, and agriculture. He urged the chamber to continue nurturing deeper collaborations across diverse fields.
Li Jiachun, president of the Thai Chinese Youth Commerce Chamber, also spoke at the event, emphasizing their vital role as both witnesses and active participants in fostering the enduring friendship between Thailand and China. He underscored the necessity of promoting connectivity and mutually beneficial cooperation, urging Thai Chinese youth to aim for not just economic successes, but also to enhance China-Thailand relations, cultural exchanges, and technological progress.
The event featured a series of speeches from various commerce chamber representatives, who collectively offered heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. They reaffirmed their commitment to nurturing and enhancing the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations and supporting ongoing development in China-Thailand relations.
Attendees were also treated to a dynamic cultural program, which included choir performances of patriotic songs such as “Sing for the Motherland” and “My Motherland and I,” along with traditional displays featuring guzheng music, face-changing artistry, and lion dancing, all contributing to a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere.
