NEYIF, AL-YATEEM Empower 120 Youth in Sokoto

In a recent event in Sokoto State, the North East Youth Initiative for Development (NEYIF) partnered with AL-YATEEM to empower 120 youth through comprehensive training in various skills and trades. The participants were selected from Sokoto South, Sokoto North, Kware, and Wamakko Local Government Areas.

During the event, NEYIF’s Executive Director, Dauda Muh’d Gombe, encouraged the attendees to make the most of their training and the tools provided to them. He highlighted the potential for their new skills to make a significant difference in their lives, pointing out that each individual is expected to support at least three family members. Gombe emphasized that this initiative could play a crucial role in alleviating poverty in the community.

Also present at the event was Ambassador Mairo Abass, who represented the National Security Adviser’s office. He praised the state government for its commitment to this program, specifically noting the allocation of a dedicated budget to ensure its sustainability—a move he described as rare among states in the country.

Musa Balarabe, a representative from the state Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, echoed these sentiments, expressing gratitude for the efforts of NEYIF and AL-YATEEM. He remarked that their work is poised to make a substantial impact on poverty reduction within the local communities.
