Attacking Russia’s rear, Ukraine says it penetrated thousands of miles into Russia to destroy transport planes_1

In a recent interview, we learned about the current state of conflict between Ukraine and Russia, particularly concerning the recent military actions in the Odesa region. A member of Ukraine’s mobile anti-drone defense unit was involved in training exercises, underscoring the country’s commitment to enhancing its defenses.

According to Ukrainian officials, over the weekend, Ukrainian forces conducted a deep strike into Russian territory, targeting a military transport aircraft at an airport in Orenburg, approximately 1,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. This operation reportedly resulted in the destruction of a Tu-134 transport aircraft, marking another significant claim from Ukraine regarding its offensive operations against Russian forces.

The Ukrainian military intelligence agency highlighted that these Soviet-made aircraft are primarily utilized for transporting high-ranking figures within the Russian Ministry of Defense. Meanwhile, as winter approaches, Ukraine has expressed concerns over intensified Russian assaults on civilian infrastructure.

Today, Ukrainian officials reported that a series of Russian artillery and drone strikes in southern Ukraine resulted in at least three fatalities and eight injuries. In Kherson province, drones struck vehicles, killing two women, while attacks on the port of Odesa led to one death and several injuries.

Oleksiy Kuleba, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister, took to Telegram to describe the aftermath of the strikes on Odesa, which also resulted in damage to two civilian vessels, including a cargo ship flying the Palau flag that has now been attacked twice in just two weeks. Additionally, Kuleba noted that the strikes have caused damage to port infrastructure, including a grain warehouse.

In a separate development, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that its forces have gained control over the village of Levadne in southeastern Ukraine. Since the onset of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, control of Levadne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast has frequently shifted between Ukrainian and Russian forces, reflecting the ongoing volatility in the region, especially with recent Russian offensives concentrated in the Donetsk area.
