On October 15, the second National Fire Prevention Conference opened in Binzhou, Shandong Province. Themed “Driving Towards ‘Innovation’ and Developing ‘Quality’,” the conference brought together numerous experts and scholars to share their insights on advancements in fire prevention technology and industry development. The discussions aimed to tackle key challenges and foster collaboration between academia and industry for innovative and high-quality growth in the fire prevention sector.
During the opening ceremony, Fan Jinlong, General Manager of the China Academy of Building Research, addressed the complexities of modern high-rise buildings, which are often crowded and feature new business models. He emphasized the emerging fire risk factors associated with large commercial complexes and underground spaces. “To tackle these challenges, industries need to develop cooperative mechanisms, enhance research support for standards, and focus on critical core technologies to promote industry transformation and upgrades,” he urged.
