Wulan, Qinghai- Plateau wetlands attract thousands of waterbirds to dance

On October 14, journalists from the Ulan County Media Center in Qinghai Province captured stunning images of a flourishing wetland ecosystem in the Chaka Town area. When I spoke with one of the reporters, they described the breathtaking sights: thousands of birds soaring gracefully across the sky, caught beautifully by a drone camera.

“It was incredible to witness so many waterfowl gathering in one place,” they remarked. “The wetlands provided a perfect backdrop for these magnificent creatures.”

In another shot, the camera revealed the birds resting peacefully on the water’s surface, embodying the serenity of their natural habitat.

“We saw them foraging for food, diving and gliding,” the reporter continued, explaining the animals’ behaviors captured through their lens. “Every moment was a reminder of how vital these wetlands are for wildlife.”

Along with the more common species, the team also documented the presence of black-necked cranes as they searched for nourishment in the wetlands. “It’s not every day you see these beautiful cranes up close,” the journalist shared enthusiastically. “Their graceful movements and unique features made for extraordinary photography.”

As we wrapped up the conversation, they reflected on the significance of preserving such environments. “Events like this remind us of our responsibility to protect these natural habitats,” they concluded. “The beauty we witnessed today highlights everything we stand to lose if we don’t.”
