On October 21, the 2024 National Bowling Championship kicked off at the Zhong’an Bowling Hall in Hefei, Anhui Province. This prestigious event features 43 teams and 258 athletes from across the country.
Jointly organized by the National Sports Administration’s Small Ball Sports Management Center and the Chinese Bowling Association, this championship is a significant annual event in the bowling community. The competition includes three team events—men’s team, women’s team, and mixed team—as well as 14 individual events, allowing teams and athletes to compete vigorously for six days in pursuit of the championship title.
He Fengxiang, the Director of the Small Ball Sports Management Center and President of the Chinese Bowling Association, officially declared the event open. In his speech, Li Jingjing, President of the Anhui Bowling Association, highlighted the importance of bowling as a popular fitness activity with a broad base of support. He emphasized that hosting a national-level bowling event is crucial for enhancing the sport’s influence, enriching community sports activities, and elevating the city’s brand image.
As of October 22, the results of the first rounds of the men’s and women’s individual competitions have been announced. The current top three in the men’s category are Liang Boyang from Guangxi, Zhao Jiayi from Hebei, and Li Yong from Sichuan. In the women’s category, the top three are Wang Deqin from Jilin, Guo Jian from Anhui, and Wang Hui from Beijing.
Additionally, the Third National Bowling Association “President’s Cup” took place on October 22, with Yang Dachuan from Jilin Province winning the championship trophy. The previous champion, Li Da-heng, finished in third place, just seven points behind. As the competition continues, the excitement and intensity are sure to escalate.
