On October 18, the “Zhejiang Promotion” series of activities made its way to Tsinghua University in Beijing.
Launched on May 30, 2022, “Zhejiang Promotion” is the official WeChat account of the Zhejiang Provincial Publicity Department. It has garnered nearly 4 million followers and published over 1,700 articles, with more than 87% of these works achieving over 100,000 reads.
During the event, a representative from the creative team shared that “Zhejiang Promotion” adheres to the philosophy of “speaking in relatable terms, addressing current issues, and maintaining a clear stance.” The initiative aims to express genuine thoughts, engage with public sentiment, and align closely with the core values of the Party. By combining strong viewpoints, innovative language, and a warm approach, the team strives to create high-quality content that makes the Party’s innovative theories accessible and relatable, all while capturing the spirit of the times.
Experts and scholars attending the event emphasized the importance of focusing on young individuals as a key demographic for mainstream media. In the age where “everyone has a microphone,” university students and faculty active online represent both a crucial audience and the driving force behind the dissemination of mainstream voices. “Zhejiang Promotion” recognizes the immense creativity within the youth and seeks to engage more thoughtful and ambitious young people to take leading roles in cultural and ideological promotion.
Throughout the event, the creative team held a roundtable discussion with Tsinghua University students and faculty, exploring how to authentically reflect the lives of young people with a more open and inclusive attitude. They discussed ways to evoke empathy through sharper writing and enhance engagement with youth users through a variety of vibrant activities.
Looking ahead, the creative team plans to visit numerous universities across the country for further interaction and exchange with students and faculty members.
